A CHANGE IN ATTITUDE BRINGS AMAZING RESULTS

This type ((or font)) will help my eyes see better what I am writing. Sounds a little like 'Little Red Riding Hood' speaking. Just want to be sure I'm not facing the Big-Bad-Wolf ! !

Anyway, since the new year has begun I have been finding all kinds of things in my life are changing. And changing quickly.

Well, there's work...........Management is trying to disrupt and destroy our very honest and group effective working environment in our office. Suffice it to say, they actually were succeeding. Until I mentioned to the staff that maybe, just maybe, we should not take action, but just tell Management how we feel, what our sollutions to the problems we are facing, are and see what happens. All we told them was the truth.

Turns out that Management is V-E-R-Y stressed. And, our Manager is looking quite a bit older and grayer these last couple of weeks. Don't know if our strategy will work or is working, but the stress-of-the-situation has shifted and it is quite interesting to watch ((if one can detach oneself)).

Next there is family. I have moved recently and with this move was the intention that it would either help my son ((who is disabled)) become independent or I would realize that this was not something he would be able to achieve. Funny how one can be blinded by what is right in front of them. That's what was happening to me, as I quickly came to the conclusion that he ((my son)) did not have the DRIVE to be an independent person, capable of living alone.

Recently, my daughter's boyfriend of three years mentioned to her that he thought that we were 'babying' our beloved wonderful son/brother too much. That what the boyfriend was seeing was an individual struggling for independence ~~ where we were seeing an individual who needed constant care and companionship.

Well, armed with a different insight into my son's possible future, I consciously DECIDED that I would adopt the attitude that he ((my son)) was an ABLE BODIED HUMAN, that he was capable of living on-his-own, and that he would be successful in his attempts at reaching out to our new neighborhood and become a valuable part of the community.

FUNNY HOW A SHIFT IN ATTITUDE CHANGES EVERYTHING.

Shortly after I adopted my new 'attitude', I was slowly becoming aware that my son WAS CAPABLE of doing and being more than I was consciously giving him credit for. Quite possibly, he COULD become INDEPENDENT.

Now, this was scaring the begeesius out of me. Where a month ago, I was the same person, looking at the same young man, who WAS NOT capable of living independently.........with a shift of attitude I was now a person, looking at the same young man, who IS NOW CAPABLE of living independently.

How the heck did this happen. Was it truly just a SHIFT of attitude within me??? What can I say but, yes, this was all that happened. I just looked at a problem from a different angle/attitude/perspective.

THE WORLD IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

Maybe in future posts, I can elaborate more on this mystery.

I'M GOING TO TRY TO SHIFT MORE OF MY ATTITUDES.
